How this assistant handles data

The assistant is an AI system, not Joshua. It answers from a curated public knowledge base, can be wrong, and should never receive confidential or sensitive information.

What is sent when you ask a question

Your message and up to 12 recent turns from the current conversation are sent through this site's server to the Anthropic API so a response can be generated. The exact model routing can change as the assistant is evaluated and improved. The assistant does not need your name, email address, or account information.

Do not submit personal, employer- or plant-sensitive, customer, credential, legal, medical, financial, or other confidential data.

Storage, retention, and model training

This application code does not write chat messages to a database, log prompt text, or persist the conversation after you reload or leave the page. The chat code does not set cookies. Privacy-safe operational logs can record the request outcome, route class, status, duration, and a hosting request identifier, but not the prompt or reply text.

For abuse prevention, the application uses a temporary, HMAC-derived client key in a shared rate-limit store when that service is configured; otherwise it uses an ephemeral key in server memory. Prompt and reply text are not stored with either key, and shared rate-limit analytics are disabled in the application configuration.

Anthropic states that API inputs and outputs are deleted from its backend within 30 days by default, subject to exceptions such as usage policy enforcement, legal requirements, or different contractual settings. Anthropic also states that commercial API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default. Site analytics

This site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights for aggregate traffic and performance measurement. When custom-event measurement is enabled, the site also records coarse, predefined events such as which public call-to-action was clicked and whether an agent request succeeded. These events do not include prompt text, reply text, names, email addresses, or other free-form input.

Vercel says Web Analytics does not use third-party cookies, and that both products are designed not to identify individual visitors or reconstruct browsing sessions. See Vercel's Web Analytics privacy documentation and Speed Insights privacy documentation.
